Saw this ring today & it reminded me of a conversation I had w/ a friend yesterday. We were talking about how to deliver the message of truth to someone when you know it may offend them or hurt their feelings. We talked about our different experiences, as well as the effect certain personality types may have on the actual “delivery style”. I shared with her that I have learned over the years, when TRUTH is intertwined with KINDNESS and has the thread of LOVE running through the middle, what is shared with someone is a whole lot easier to be heard, received & actually welcomed.

Christ is a beautiful example of this.
He is TRUTH – “I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE …. ” John 14:6 and then in John 8, that knowing the Truth will set us free.
It also says in Romans 2:4 that “the kindness of God leads you to repentance.”
Kindness leads us to repentance and change.
Truth sets us free and breaks down the walls of lies around our hearts.
We need both.
Mingled together, just like the silver strands in this wedding band are woven together.
People need truth.
People need kindness.

Christ so beautifully weaves them together, both truth and kindness and then wraps it all with LOVE, because He is love. His only motivation is purely out of love for each of us. To bring us to wholeness. To set us free.
He does not give one without the other.
Isn’t God amazing that He can be both.
So can we, when we share with someone.
We can speak truth in kindness.
Yes even wrapped in kindness, truth may still hurt.
But when LOVE is the thread and the motive that is woven through the center of it all, just like the gold in this ring, although it may hurt, the beautiful opportunity to bring healing and wholeness is there.

The doorway to receive what is being shared, to lay hold of the truth, and allow it to work on our hearts, is flung wide open. Like a beautiful proposal, an invitation to freedom, a promise of love, just like this wedding band represents, when all is presented as one, it will bring beauty to the hearts of those who choose to listen and put it on.
